About This Website

My name is Jerry Odom and I'm a Baton Rouge local. I love this city, its people and the surrounding area. There is always something going on but if you don't know where to look you could miss much of it! People are always complaining to me that there isn't much to do. I know that's not true and like to take notes on things going on so that I know what's going on. This website is all about sharing that.

Baton Rouge is truly a city that isn't always very user friendly so you've got to be willing to explore to find whats great about our town. I'm always exploring, checking out new things and I love to share what I know. Thats what this site will become. This website is the direct result of the Baton Rouge section of of my personal website becoming too large to manage. As a professional software engineer and web developer I'm in a unique position to build this resource.

Every time I or someone I know checks out and likes some place, business or event in the capital city I'll write about it here. If I like a place I'll write about it and make that information available to anyone else that might want to know something about it. Through documentation of my daily life visitors will know where to go and locals will find something different to try out.

I'd really love to hear about quality service businesses such as home repair services, automotive repair services, builders, heating and air, tree services, etc. These are the types of things that aren't used often enough for people to really get a feel for who does the best work while not financially strapping the consumer. I know I've been very unhappy about my experiences with heating and air but have received a number of happy emails over recommending Marathon Tree Service who does their professional service at a fair price.
