The New Roads Lions Carnival parade Since 1941 this parade has run as a charitable fundraiser in the beautiful city of New Roads just North West of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Monetary proceeds benefit Lions Charities. All the fun of New Orleans style parades but with the beauty of New Roads and the False river. Around 30 floats put on by the local community.

Theme is "Scenes From Around The World." Lineup: 30 freshly built floats, nine bands and several drill units. Throws include specially minted doubloons and 1920s reproduction glass beads this year, in addition to metallic beads and small toys. Travels Mill, Community, Main, St. Mary, First, Poydras, Parent and New Roads Streets. King and Queen unmask during parade when their float reaches Courthouse Square reviewing stand. This year’s court costumes and regalia to be the most elaborate ever. $1,000 cash raffle follows parade at reviewing stand.
