Best of Baton Rouge now features individually custom categorical listings for the sake of better serving our visitors. Specifically we’ve gone ahead and added daily calendar information to the bars category and the nightlife category to quickly let our visitors know what’s going on in Baton Rouge.

Many bands and event promoters list where they’ll be playing in or around Baton Rouge and Louisiana. Since they aren’t always close to Baton Rouge we’ve released another calendar to make this information available.
The bands and promoters calendar will feature as many bands and/or promoters we can find. It already lists a few dozen events that’ll expand to hundreds like the regular events calendar. Check it out next time you’re looking for a live event.

After some architectural considerations and a bit of work I’ve finished setting the stage for serving the Best of Baton Rouge up to Mobile devices. Browser friendly from your smart phone in the very near future so that you can find out what’s going out easily on the go.
I’ve moved around the index page to better reflect what’s been most popular at Best of Baton Rouge. I’ve also moved the editorials to a more prominet position including expanding the front page to include Editorial listings.
Thanks to those who’ve been sending me suggestions and requests for networking. A true sign that this website is growing and reaching out to the community of our great city.
Though it’s still pretty fledgling I’ve moved the Best of Baton Rouge editorial section to production. I’d taken extra time to evaluate exact requirements and figured out it was time to go K.I.S.S.(Keep It Simple Stupid)
Addtionally I’ve added a couple of calendars to my calendar and a few new posts. I’ve also further developed the presentation. Visitor numbers continue to grow and I couldn’t be happier that people are using it.

I’ve been working behind the scenes on an editorial section. It’s been coming well and I’ll soon integrate it to the rest of the front end.
At this juncture I’ve listed around 200 things for Baton Rouge with about 200 written down to be added. More get added to the list every day which is promising.
The website has continued to improve in slight ways. I’ve added event features and been developing an editorial section for the sake of more content depth. I want to do editorials based on my own experience to provide for those looking for particular things in our city. It’ll be based on things friends and family ask me about due to them knowing about this site and others I’m involved in.
I’ve also been very focused on further entertainment options. I started with nightlife and live music. I’ve moved on to theatre, more exact festivals and events. I’m hoping for 2008 to really produce results from this great project.
2008 is a promising new year for Best of Baton Rouge. The website is growing and people are noticing it more and more. Look for continued development, new additions and features. Probably the most anticipated by myself will be the Best of Baton Rouge Mobile Site
