Every Saturday farmers from all over Louisiana come to offer their products at the
Main Street Market. You'll find a wide variety of fresh produce you won't find anywhere else. Local Louisiana products for the Farmers Market will include fresh Gulf shrimp, goat cheese, native Louisiana wines, corn meal, pepper jam, bloody mary mix, pickled okra, sausages, late summer vegetables, Uncle Bill’s Creole file, everyone’s favorite teacakes, pies and all the Smith Creamery chocolate milk you can drink.
There is also an indoor area in the parking garage where there are even more local vendors with soap, art, prints and more. You can also get something to eat at around six small restaurants available.
Live music with a band playing will occasionally show up. The event takes place from 8am until noon. It's a great time anyone will enjoy. they have a great website with lots of information on their vendors and events.
When I visited the market we had a great time. There were some incredibly beautiful things available. Birdhouses, custom US mailbox banks, pottery, jewelry and more. There were also plants and herbs available for our garden. It was a great time with lots of people enjoying the beautiful late Summer weather.
